Watertown? You're really playing again in Watertown? That is awesome! I have not seen you guys in such a long time. I've had pictures taken with you (quite a few), I've got an autographed sweaty towel from Van, I've been chastized on your guestbook, harassed at your concerts for singing too much, and so forth. I cannot wait to see this full band. I've heard nothing but good things, so I'm soooooo excited!

Looking forward to it, boys! And Van I would like another photo with you. The dozen or so I have are just not enough. Kevin I heard your elbow has been hurting. I hope you Ok and able to rock!

Man, do I ever feel cheated!!!!

What's worse than not getting to see a Paces show at all??? Getting to see half of it then having to leave... aaggghhh (that's a running, screamimg sound)!!!!

I have to give kudos to Al Baker's and the Army of Angel's for putting together a terrific event... REALLY enjoyed the cuty pututies selling the raffle tickets and the jello shots;-)

Thanks for another blast of a night guys!! Scottie, you did a excellent job of filling the "Landon void" (OF COURSE we missed you, young one)... "The Boys Are Back in Town" stopped me in my tracks!!! Kevin and Van... you probably tire of hearing the compliments... oh wait, what was I thinking?!?!? You never get tired of hearing the compliments so here we go again...

I just never figure out how you manage all that you do and be so good at all of it (and stinkin' cute too)!!! Your charm, energy, enthusiasm and passion for for your crowds and cause never fail to warm my heart and make me smile. Please don't ever, ever stop!!! My dancing shoes were a little sad as they didn't get a chance to tear up a floor (no floor space to be had) but my voice was lucky enough to get a work out singing with Van and Scottie... what a sweet treat!! (yeah, like that never happens...)

Can't wait to be dancing in the streets (yes, DC, sooo Bowie... and Jagger wasn't it?) this weekend in Watertown!!! Looking forward to seeing the "full band" and having the sound planted so deeply in my head that it will be Wednesday of next week before I surface for air... ahhhhhhh, yesssss...

Loved you guys on Saturday night! Glad to have had you! I can't say enough about your concert. It was awesome!

I'm so glad that you guys have a website! I saw you last night at Al Baker's and thought that you were fantastic! I so enjoyed your show. The music was great. The singing was awesome. The way that you got people to donate money was inspiring. Your singer offering to match donations 1:1 was incredibly generous.

My mother died 7 years ago from breast cancer and I cannot tell you how much I appreciate what you, Al Baker's and Army of Angels did.

In addition to raising money for a good cause and inspiring everyone in the room to help, you made some new fans too. Thanks for playing for us and keep up the crusade!

Not a Caroline (nor will I ever be)

June 18, 2008

No... Please no... Hell no...

If you want to hear Neil Daimond, get Sirius radio... there's a whole station devoted just to him.

I keep having this re-occurring nightmare since this crazy talk began... I see Landon standing in the corner weeping as he strums the tune... Kevin has a horrified look on his face as if to say "how the hell did we get here?"... and Van is wearing a pastel blue tuxedo (similar to Adam Sandler in "The Wedding Singer") as he obediantly responds to the fan's request for a song that really should just stay in a ball park at this point. Gives me the heebeegeebees to think about it!!!

Gals... pleeeeeeease... I beg of you... let it go!!!! Request something that brings you to your knees as the band tears it up not some shmaltzy tune that requires me to check my pulse to see if I'm still alive. I don't recall anyone ever twisting an ankle dancing to "the song that shall not be named"!!

And of course, they could do it if they so chose... they can do anything!!

"boneless baby"

June 18, 2008

okay Sweet Caroline.....are you being serious...here is my take on Neil Diamond....so "Song Sung Blue"...everyone knows a Neil Diamond song....I get that your a fan...and yes Van loves to please his audience (as the entire band does, I have no doubt) but shouldn't the majority rule in such situations?...the bands vibe is not a Neil Diamond concert vibe...there is nothing Van can't sing...he has nothing to prove...he should sing only what he want to sing.....maybe you should request a "cooler" Neil Diamond tune..you might have a chance with "I'm a believer"...a cool rockin version (alot of people don't know he wrote that song)...or maybe a more "bar" befitting song would be "Love on the Rocks"...and all fans will be happy....thats all from this boneless fan...."I am", I said....mwaauh-hahaha...

Sweetest Caroline

June 18, 2008

I'm still wanting to hear this. All these compliments in the guestbook about Van being able to sing anything and the band being able to play anything too. How about it fellas? Are you up for a little Sweet Caroline? I know that you want to please your fans. How about it?

Sweeter Caroline

June 17, 2008

Because we love it! And because Van would do it flawlessly! Come on is there not a bone in your body that would love to hear Van do this?

Not the typical 73 Paces song I know but come on I'd love to hear it!

June 15, 2008

OK this will be my pen name. I heard no less than three girls request this last night and your singer kept blowing us all off saying that you guys played it as your sound check and we should have gotten their earlier. Disappointing but darn funny.

Really really enjoyed when you guys were actually playing! Rain sucks and electricity issues suck too. TB3 should have been more prepared. I'll talk to Theo about that when I see him. Any way you guys were awesome. Loved the piano song by Bon Jovi. Really really good.

Could have done without the methhead girl rubbing all over your guitar player though. Keep your shirt down with girls like that around.

sexual exemplification...

June 13, 2008

Perhaps we can navigate around this word to better meet the 73 Paces "hotness" criteria...Bea covered size...and yes color...(the band is a nice example of this)...other examples of sexual dimorphism at a Paces gig would have to include....Teeth (they have been used before)...fingernails....meeeow!!!!....leg kicking....butt bumping....and of course the battle over hot blondes vs. hot brunettes....well leave curls or no curls out of it....and of course under garments are optional...hahaha....
full band photos please...for the second time! have a great gig...

bea

June 13, 2008

Sexual dimorphism is the systematic difference in form between individuals of different sex in the same species . Examples include size, color, and the presence or absence of parts of the body used in courtship displays or fights, such as ornamental feathers, horns, antlers or tusks.

HOT!!!

Personally... I like the word scandalous... happens to be one of my favorites!! Thanks for keeping this guestbook educational, DC!!!

I had a wonderful time with you guys on Saturday night. Thoroughly enjoyed myself as did the rest of the audience.

I have to admit that I thought that I heard that one girl mention nothing under her dress, but it was soft and I was not sure. Glad my mind was not playing tricks on me. I got a good laugh out of that one!

What was up with the trip contest at that bar though? Did one of the bartenders really win that trip? That is BS if it is true.

You guys were awesome. Sounded great and easy on the eyes! Thanks for a great time!

June 10, 2008

Lordy fellas... I run out of adjectives!

Another blast of a show, and isn't that really what it's all about?!?! Oh, I suppose it's nice when every member of the band is hotter than a Sunday afternoon in August, when the the guitar playing is so rippin' it makes you want to dance until your stiletto straps break and the vocals so powerful they nearly melt the paint off the walls. Yeah, I guess all that stuff is pretty good too...

You guys rocked the roof off Wytt's once again!!! There is nothing I could possibly say that I haven't already said at leat 10 time over! We welcome Zar into the fold and can't wait to hear Joey B's sticks again!!

Looking forward to many smokin' hot nights of rock-n-roll to come!!!

I love these guys too. Awesome talent and how lucky we are to have them here in Waconia! I have a suggestion for the really drunk curly haired chick who tried to lure in the singer. Next time you're going to tell him that you have nothing on under your dress you should be farther away from the microphone. It's amazing what those things can pick up. Soft but certainly heard.

Grow up. Enough said?

June 9, 2008

Man, 3rd time I have seen these guys. WOW! WHat can I say.Tons of talent. Why they still play in Waconia is beyond me. Loved the singer and guitar players. Especially liked when the 2 guitar players played by themselves. I wish that the doctor made house calls because I am sick!!!!

Hey Jame! Glad you called me about the website. I've enjoyed reading all of the "history" of the band.

I really enjoyed the show on Saturday, too. Totally cool guys. I think that Gar was totally scamming on chicks though, even though I think they wanted to scam on Van and Kevin. I can't believe that I actually sang with you guys, but I had a blast and would do it again.

And Van the best photos we had from the night was the one you took! Thanks!

Can't wait for the June concert!

I can get the ball rolling for you guys. What an awesome show last Saturday! This is now the second time that I've gotten to see you and it was awesome as expected. I am totally in awe of the vocals. Van is an unbelievable singer and charasmatic and hot and a total treat for the ears and eyes! Loved the music that backed him up too and the lights and smoke added a lot.

I look forward to Freeborn days. Would like to get my picture taken with you guys if you do that kind of thing especially Van.

Come on everyone else: let's tell them what we thought of the show!

April 24, 2008

I've seen this band a couple of times, but always by accident. I've read the guestbook and looked at photos though becauase I do enjoy you guys.

To show that there really is more to this group than the normal guestbook comments, today I saw Van at the funeral for Nancy Hammerlund who I understand is the sister of an employee of his. I saw two grown men hug without a second thought and saw how he greeted each person around him with the most sincere smile and eye contact imaginable.

I introduced myself and had a short but nice exchange with Van and even though he did not know me he took the time to greet me. Even though many people must want to talk about the band with him he made no mention of it. He was there to support a friend, and that, ladies, is sexy and sweet.

If anyone is not already a fan, they sure would be after seeing what I saw today.

Bottom line is that there is so much more to these guys (at least Van) than you read about from drooling fans on the guestbook. He's really a great guy.

Thought I'd share my thoughts.

God Bless Nancy

Tell me that your schedule is wrong, PLEASE!!! Is there really not a show before Freeborn? Taking time off without asking your fans is just not OK. We need you guys to jam pack every weekend for us. Can you say withdrawal? I MUST HAVE A 73 PACES FIX!!!!!!!

By the way, nice to see from the comments that in addition to being great entertainers, you guys also are great stewards of the community. I appreciate the soccer coach comment and the fact that you guys volunteer your talents for good fund raising causes. Thanks for that.

I have not posted on your site in some time and have not seen you for some time. I remember when people were doing "73 Paces sightings" and I had one last night. Van was coaching his daughter's soccer team and played against my daughter's team. Some of us spent more time watching him than the game. Hot on stage and really really cute with his daughter. He looks like a great dad. Not a bad combination ladies.

I'll be sure to check you guys out real soon. Looking at some of the photos and reading this guestbook it appears I've been missing out some real fun. I'll start warming up my vocal cords right now.

Looks like the shows continue to be lots of fun but with a little different twist.

I look forward to seeing you guys again soon.

Man, this guestbook is hot! Good to see that there are men joining in on the conversation.about time. I have a couple things to say, I think this band is locally the best around, they rock the place out with 2 guitar players and an really talented singer, not alot of musicians I know can pull off the rock n roll with so little to go on. they are very professional and entertaining.
Now about the ladies that follow this band, It seems there are many from this guest book, being male I can only thank the band for bringing so many sexy and open minded woman into one room that serves alcohol.Being a man suffice to say I would love to introduce myself to many of them, if forced to name a few, the girl scout leader (hot curly blonde) could have brought her (yummy) over to my table, there was a bare foot dancing brunette that could have wiggled closer to me and the tall blonde from the bar drinking Corona, to name a few. any of you married?
you guys rock, love your sound, keep rockin the neighborhood! have a great day, thanks again Todd

Not a blonde

April 11, 2008

Keep it up boys!

Dang... I wonder if my very hot husband knows I'm a lesbian?!?!?

One hot blond... thanks for the kind words, compliments and super hilarious ending to what was already a blast of
an evening!!! Did you know that you have the gift of leaving "marks" in the shape a heart?!?! Pretty special talent if you ask me... I was quite flattered by the attention if not by the biting:-) It's all good...

I am very glad though that the events of the evening have kept the guestbook hopping... it has kept me (and many others I'm sure) entertained throughout the week!!! And in some very dillusional way, made me feel like a real rockstar (think Britt and Madonna) or maybe it was a porn star... hmmm... I'll get back to you on that.

What should not get lost in all of the girl-on-girl action (very different than 2 women being lesbian... ask any of my lesbain friends) is that Kevin, Van and Landon rocked the frickin' walls off the Lanes that night!! They looked good (ok they looked great but I don't like to tell them that too often, you know they have those crazy egos), they sounded great and delivered one hell of a show!!! What we should really be doing is demanding more shows on the schedule... I mean for cryin' out loud... was that not some of the best entertainment you've seen a long while?!?!? C'mon boys... MORE PACES!!!

Jim,
Be careful what you wish for. Sometimes dreams do come true. (PS I keep telling you all, we are not lesbians! Just appreciating the yummy things in life!)

April 10, 2008

OK. I lied. I would sort of like to have the lesbians, the photographer and a couple of the girls dancing.

Jim

April 10, 2008

What a crazy reaction to a crazy show. I unlike most other people writing in don't want the short guitar player, the tall guitar player or the singer. I also don't want the lesbians, the photographer, the bartender, the bowling team, the dancers or anyone else. I simply want a beer and to listen to great music. And on Saturday I had both. Thanks.

April 10, 2008

Fisrt timer as well. What a f_ _ _ _ _ _ show. I personally don't mind the lesbo action. I think it's hot as well, but give me the yummy, short guitar player and 4 hours of alone time. Man, I feel naughty but life is short. Can't wait to see them again

Jennifer

April 10, 2008

OK. Now I'm even more curious about what a real 73 Paces concert might be like. My first exposure to you was when you played a number of weeks ago for our children's school's food drive. I was extremely impressed and certainly plan to see you play a "real" show. Now as I read this I'm even more curious. Talk about versatility. I've read here that you guys played Moondance Jam before the Doobie Brothers, you played our local school food drive and now you've played at a local bar orgy. You guys seem to get around! I love it!

SK (yes a woman)

April 10, 2008

OMG this is crazy. Neck nibbling is one thing but now someone's talking about bringing lube and squeezing between Van and Landon. Now that's not what I'd expect from a 73paces show but it sure sounds good to me.

And for the hot blonde (if you are really the one from the show), how far are you really willing to go? I for one (also not a les) would love to see you rip each others clothes off and show us more of God's love! I think the boys might like it too!

one hot blond chick

April 9, 2008

Just to clear the air. I am one of the "girl on girl" girls. I am not a lesbian. (not that there's anything wrong with that) I am a Girl Scout leader. I dont think it says anywhere in the Scout rules that I can't have fun on a Saturday night! If you women out there are honest with yourselves, you will have to admit that women are beautiful creatures and yummy, too! Anita is the sweetest thing ever and she was a dear to let me nibble on her. (I do apolgize for the marks left behind. Think of them as a sign of my love and admiration.)
I absolutely love love love the long writer girl who won't leave her name. She has the right idea. It's all good. It's all fun. Life is short, and if you want to nibble on someone once in a while, just do it! God loves it when we love each other! He doesn't tell us how to do it! Just do it!

Peace out!

ok i was at the show and the girl on girl thing was far from lame it was hot and kevin was enjoying it as much or more than anyone and i think that the curly haired blond girl was in love with a couple people that night and both of them were on stage much or most of the nite and i heard someone say that one of them is a girl scout leader and why is it that a girl or a couple of girls cant have a little fun without everyone trying to jump into it and why is it that no one in the band tried to jump into it and im thinking that they would have enjoyed sandwiching van between them and would have taken kevin or landon too and im even thinking that they would have pulled maybe anyone else into it because they looked like there were sort of into that and why is it that every time i see these guys who are totally fing hot there is some sort of crazy drama like the girls wont leave them alone or in this case the girls wont leave the girls alone and why is it that i am typing this as one very long very drawn out sentence well i will tell you why its because i can and its because i want to and its because i just didnt want to use punctuation or capital letters today and its because i really wanted to have the longest entry in this totally funny chaotic drama filled incredible hot wacked out guestbook and i do believe that im going to have the longest entry and i just have one more thing to say which is damn my fingers are getting tired and they really need a break and now i think that they deserve the break because i do think that i now have the longest entry and if you have any respect for me even though you dont know who i am please do not try to beat my record because that would just force me to come back on here and type again how totally hot i think van kevin and landon are and all the other stuff that is going on inside my head but believe me folks you do not want to do that because i most certainly will and you most certainly will force it by even trying to type more in this guestbook than i have already typed but now i wonder whether or not all of this will even show and whether or not there is a limit on how much stuff i can put in one comment so i guess well find out thanks for listening or reading or whatever bye for now

You guys were so awesome on Saturday night. It was hot in there all right but it would have been hot at 20 below with you guys there. Yeah the lesbian stuff was wierd (and sort of cool at the same time. Who said that?) but the real heat came from the three of you. I think that Landon is so cute, and my friend (5 letters; begins with J; she knows who she is) is totally in love (or is it lust?) with Van. Fortunately he turned her down so I got my ride home (embarassed yet J---t?)

Seriously I had more fun on Saturday listening to you guys that I've had in months. People need to dance more, though. What's up with that? Come on ladies. We know the guys will only dance if we are, so let's step it up next time.

Love you guys.

PS - I'll call you later J-N-T

Hot blondes, gorgeous brunettes and all totally into the music and eachother. girls,How about showing the guys that DONT sing or play guitar or are married a good time. I liked watching the chick on chick show on stage, and the brunette with the camera take pictures of the wall, I thik I got the better view. Thanks for the great time in Waconia.

Oh yeah... now that was some fine entertainment...

Clearly the winter blahs have been swept away and replaced with that unforgetable energy you guys share!!! Thanks for a GREAT show and a BLAST of a night!!!

Once again the adreneline crash sets in upon me and I can merely linger in the gentle afterglow...

Hugs and kisses boys!!

This was also my first time seeing you guys and to quote an earlier guestbook entry "HOLY SHIT". Loved the acoustic guitar sound and your singer is absolutely the best around. Loved the crowd interaction and melted many times over to that voice. There seemed to be a few ladies in the audience who agreed. Then there was the one who thought that the blonde backup singer was hot. While I didn't care much for the on stage make out session, my husband didn't seem to mind one bit. He smiled a bit less though when I said he could take both of them home if I could have the singer! Turnbout is fair play after all, ladies!

Anyhow, great show. We'll (or me alone) will be back for more.

Peace.

Loved you guys at Waconia Lanes. I am a first timer. Man , what a hot show. Boy do they entertain the crowd. Loved the vocals, the guitar and the Dr.
Can't wait to see them again.
Would love to "bowl" some frames with the Dr.

Loved you guys as always. Two comments about the performance.

1. Holy shit was it great. Come on. Van nailed Lost Highway like nothing I've ever heard. Dani California with Van and Landon was so hot it was unbelievable. Seriously got my panties wet. Best voice around, ladies.

2. Holy shit I want more. Now. Really. I mean now. I need a serious fix of 73 paces. Orgasmic voice and incredible acoustic guitars. Love you guys.

Patty

March 13, 2008

Friday was my first time seeing 73 paces, but it was great. I'm not sure what all of the off night comments are about. What i saw and heard was a phenominal trio led by a fantastic singer. Loved it and want more.

March 13, 2008

Sorry for not giving my name. I hope you will still post this. I've been now to 4 73 paces shows at Wytt's End and saw the full band in Chaska. I must say that Friday night was one of the funnest shows I've ever been to of any band I've seen locally.

People are talking about Van having an off night. Is there really such a thing? If THAT was an off night, then I'm really scared about what an "ON NIGHT" is like!

And the guitar playing. Oh the guitar playing. Loved it as always. Great energy and fun!

And the light show and the fog (and the fog and teh fog and the fog) was great fun but I could not see the guys at times because of the fog (and the fog and the fog and the fog)

To close, I'll take an off night with Van singing over an on night with any other band around. there is nothing else like 73 paces and no other singer like Van. You guys are awesome and Waconia is lucky to have you as our very own!

March 10, 2008

Sooooooo... Jen and Suze, do you want the good news or the bad news first? Let's go with the bad...

THAT WAS AN OFF NIGHT FOR VAN!!! (sorry buddy)...

Oh yeah... he's just that good!!! An off night for him puts many, many vocalists to shame (how dare they call themselves frontmen!!) and if you haven't heard him over and over and over again (I'm sorry, did I hear someone say groupie?) you would never know that if he didn't peel you right out of your skin, something was a little "off" (you know what I'm sayin', dude).

The good news? He LOVES when ANYONE comes and sings with him!!! You don't have to be great, good or anywhere in between... he just loves to share the stage, revel in your revel and have a damn good time!!! If you're having a fun, he's having fun and that makes the show even better!!! Don't think you need to be a singer to get up and join him... just get your ass up there and SING!!! I would however, offer one suggestion: if you're getting up there to sing, please SING!!! You will indeed, piss him off if you get up there and don't throw out a tune, any tune, even an out of tune!!! The words are there, the mic is there, don't be afraid to let yourself run wild... you never know where it may lead you!!! (it's not pretty when he gets pissed off). And by the way, the blonde chick that usually monopolizes the "your mic" would be very happy to relinquish said mic to anyone who wants to wail a tune with the band!!! But come on... you've gotta SING!!!

Enough with the preaching already...

Landon, Van, Kevin and Joey B... it was a great show!!! LOVE the new covers (Dani California was my fav) and it was so good to see all of you (Joel, what a treat)!! Please don't let it be so long until next time... the winter has been long, cold and bitter. Your heat can warm us all:-)

As always, love ya boys!

Hello 73 Paces! I can't tell you how thrilled I was to get to see you on Friday night! You were incredible on all levels (songs, sound, lights, etc.) I can't wait to see you again and, like Jen, would love to sing along. But darn, hard to top your vocals. Even a couple people who sounded like really good singers could not hold a candle to Van.

Maybe next time he'll have an off night and give the rest of us a chance to shine!

Peace.

Jen

March 9, 2008

You guys were awesome on Friday night. I've seen you at Wytts before but have just read your guestbook for the first time and could not agree more with the comments. There appears to be no song that is out of bounds for your singer. Bon Jovi wishes he sounded so good on lost highway, as does Rob Thomas on all you did of his music. Great job and great energy. Love the sing along concept, but wish Van was not so intimidatingly good at singing so that I'd be willing to give it a try! That's a compliment. Thanks again.

Jen

March 3, 2008

Wait... is it possible, is it for real, is it true or simply a figment of my 73 Paces deprived mind... Are the boys really and truly playing this weekend at the none other than infamous Wytt's?!?! (oh an infamous in so many ways)!!!

Who can possibly imagine that we could have survived the long cold winter without some 73 Paces heat to keep us warm?!? Oh, and long and cold it was...

Am I bitter?!?!? You can friggin' bet I'm bitter! I had to do things completely against my religion to stay in top booty-shaking shape... learn the two-step and line-dancing, watch American Idol (groannnn) and listen to too many other local live bands that, while very good in thier own right, could never hold a candle to the kind of energetic performance these guys deliver each and every night (well, on the nights they decide to play)!!!

Am I bitter? Hell yes I'm bitter!! And by the way, the therapy session haven't been going so well either!!

Can't wait to see ya, boys!!!

Thanks so much for the great show at Bayview. While the kids enjoyed it tremendously, the parents (moms in particular) were thrilled. Thanks so much!

Maureen

February 23, 2008

Ditto! On behalf of all the parents who brought their kids there last night, you guys were simply incredible. You had the kids eating out of your hands, and you certainly gained some adult fans, too. Including me! Thank you very much.

Julie

February 23, 2008

Well well well. For those fans who felt that these guys were awesome before, you would melt to have seen the interaction between these guys and the kids at Bayview Elementary School last night. I have respect at a whole new level after that. Van the way you kneeled down to sing High School Musical songs with those kids was heart warming. And, ladies, THAT makes a man hot just as much as all the other things that you already know.

By the way, how you sang Bet on it and SOS was phenominal. Just as my daughters! He can do kid songs too!

And Kevin great guitar playing as usual! You guys were awesome. Very nice to see you in that type of atmosphere.

Thank you so much for volunteering your time and talent to our school and community!

February 21, 2008

I've gotten to see you guys a few times at Wytts End, but I never thought I'd see a show at Bayview with my kids! Can't wait! I'll probably not act quite the same way tomorrow night. Do you suppose the "chicks" will be hitting on you guys tomorrow like at all the other shows? Let's just hope not!

PS - I see that you're doing some real kid songs, but please don't neglect the parents! We need to hear your "normal" stuff!!!

Goodness... Can't you see that you've dulled even the finest of senses (Cheech) into not having the energy to use proper puncutation (note the last sentence...)?!?! Talk about cabin fever...

I know it's been a long winter, but I can smell spring right around the corner and anticipate that your desire to start gigging again will coincide with the rhythm of Mother Earth... which means MUCH action in the very near future!!!

We have missed you a ton and Cheech is soooooo right (as she is so often) that "country" (as good as he is) is no match for the booty-shakin', ass-munching, rhythym-grinding sounds of "the boys"...

Can't wait to "get it on"...

Steph

February 3, 2008

Can you guys please play Purple Rain by Prince? It was my wedding song (long story). My husband has since died but this remains my favorite song. It would mean a lot if you could play this for me at River City. Thanks for considering.

The Other Cindy

February 1, 2008

I'm having fun following this. The Cindy that left the comment yesterday has a great name! I really enjoyed these guys in Freeborn both the music and the guys themselves. Meeting their singer (Van) was a highlight for me. They are awesome guys cute and nice. I really look forward to seeing them again in Freeborn and apparently a number of other ladies do too.

PLEASE COME BACK!!!!

:-)

Cindy

Loved you guys last week in Freeborn. Really thought the shorter guitar player was to die for, nice toosh!
Is he married??????

Jen

January 29, 2008

So many comments about two guys in the band vs. the music and the show. I'll weigh in on both. The music was second to none in this area or any other. Amazing show. Loved Van's voice and energy and really enjoyed the full band sound.

The advances were a but humorous and a couple of girls even tried to make the really drunk girl (who was brunette by the way) jealous. Funny that they kept rotating between Van and the skinny guitar player. Neither showed much interest but tactfully got rid of them. Kudos for not being mean to them and thanks for an amazing show. Please come back often!

Man did you guys rock on Saturday! So glad that I was there. I must say that the first song (Superstition) had me wondering. Don't get me wrong. You nailed it, but I was wondering about your style of music. Then you did Disease by matchbox 20 and holy shit! Awesome! Awesome lead vocals, awesome guitar, hot look, amazing energy, great drums, and did I mention the energy and crowd appeal of your singer? You guys kicked ass and then kicked it again. So glad to have been part of it. Looking forward to your return.

Looks like Freeborn experienced THE TYPICAL, KICK-ASS show these guys deliver night after night (or month after month, as the current case may be) (um... I'm not bitter...)!!

The extracurricular activity that occurred is not an isolated incident when these guys play. So as much as being called out in the guestbook can be embarrassing and in some cases humiliating, whomever the girl or girls in question are, take heart in knowing you are not the first, nor will you be the last to over-react to this band's, um... charisma (or flat out dead sex appeal as it's better known in the cities)!! I might however suggest a little less alcohol consumption next time... helps buffer that crazy-ass vibe they put out!!!

Love ya much boys... can't wait to see you again... apparently, YOU STILL ROCK!!!

Not the obnoxious blonde

January 28, 2008

I need to set the record straight. Two of my friends told me that I was getting ripped on on this site for grabbing the singer, which I admit i did. Please someone come to my defense though. I am a blonde and the one who was obnoxious was brunette. You all are ripping on the brunette right? She did a whole lot more than me. Please someone who does not know me respond and defend me. Preferabely the blonde. or even Van. He must remember because he walked away from both of us.

January 28, 2008

I really enjoyed your show at the newly named bar (but I can't remember the new name thanks to a few beers I drank). You are the best band I've seen in this area. Thansk for coming down. Readign the guestbook I agree about a few crazies that were there. There were several women hitting on the singer and the guitar player on the left side of the stage and most appeared tasteful. That one girl though was obnoxious the way she was all over the singer. He sang to her a little bit and she got love struck (ok probably not love). Several times he had to move away from her and move her hands away from him. Finally she disappeared but then was back trying it again. It actually added a bit of comedy to a great music show.

Would love to see you down south again. I truly loved your show.

you guys kicked ass on sat night. hot singer and guitar player. to the crazy bitch who was trying to rape your singer get a room next time slut. i heard you offer to show him your tits and after he said no you kept pushing it. next time find a drunk guy who is into fat ugly drunk chicks and maybe youll find a match. otherwise let the rest of us enjoy the show and let the singer do what we all came to see him do.

Incredible night 73 Paces! You rocked Freeborn like no one ever has! Great band led by incredible singer. Thanks for the great time.
Now to the drunk chick who was unable or willing to keep her hands off the singer. You are a slut. He clearly wanted nothing to do with you. Next time spare us the attempted x rated improv. Sad display of something. I'm still trying to figure out what something is.

Hope to see you in Watertown.

I just googled Freeborn, Mn and man is that a haul boys! My friend and I will try to make it down there. I hope we can pull it off without the boyfriends making a big stink. We should probably just leave them behind anyway. She's in love with your singer. I've never gotten to see you guys but she swears I'll love you and the guest page reads the same way.

Anyway after a long show I think she is hoping to hang with your singer. She'll kill me for that one! Anyhow, we hope to see you guys in Freeborn!

So question for the other fans - bring boyfriends or leave them behind?

January 1, 2008

As we celebrated the new year last night I was thinking back to 2 years ago when I first saw you guys. I saw a couple shows and they were great. Looking back, I was even one of the first people to sign your guestbook!

I fell in love with your singer (you know what I mean) so I followed your guestbook for a while. Then I transferred to Ohio, but now I'm back. While I've been following you all through your website, I am anxious to see the "new" band. If it's as good as the comments indicate (which I'm sure it is) then you may just have a few groupies on your hands.

Looks like this Landon is getting attention. If it takes attention away from Van its a good thing. Save him for me.

Seriously. I can't wait to see you guys and hear that voice again. I've missed it.

Since my sis is out of state partying it up with the brothers and Rodeo Shrimp's mom and dad, I'm going to take the liberty of wishing you all a very Happy New Year from both of us and the dudes we hang with.

2007 was a blast of a year!! 73 Paces, the crazies that sign this guestbook and all the other fans we've made friends with, added a layer of fun to almost each and every day. The laughter and madness was such a greatly appreciated... "I want something else to ge me through this semi-charmed kind of life, baby!" You all fit that bill!!

We look forward to seeing more of the full band (puleeeeze!!) in '08... but I digress...

Wishing Kev, Van, Landon, Dewey and Joel a happy, healty, partyin' and prosperous new year. Kick some Minnesota ass, boys!!! We'll all be there to watch!!

With some serious down time at the office, I've spent a few hours scouring your guestbook. I got to see you guys in Chaska a little while back and totaly loved it.

Seriously one of the funnest bands I've seen. I do have a request for a song (since you asked). Several people said that you should do some Garth Brooks, and while I remember you saying that you don't do country, you really need to do a Garth song. Ain't Going Down Till The Sun Comes Up would be awesome, but I'd really love to hear To Make You Feel My Love or She's Every Woman. I guarantee the women melt with either. Thanks for considering it.

a christmas poem for 73 paces van in particulur

here's to you
for all that you do
wishing you a merry christmas
and a happy chanuka too

here's to you
for all that you are
shining so bright
just like a star

wish i was part
of your holiday wish
you are certainly mine
even just a kiss

so van as this year
comes to an end
maybe in 08 we can begin

you know who i am
but you don't know my name
maybe i should end my silly little game

like i said in the front
this one is for you
so in my feeble attempt
i will give you some clues

i sure love to sing
but i can't write a song
used to think i could hold a note
and my hair is quite long

you know for sure that my name
is not my name
i've had a couple of them
so it' s all just the same

anyhow how embarasing. have a great holiday i will think of you often.

marcie yeah right

Very cool Jay... I was getting a little bored with the guestbook too... where the hell is everybody?!?!?! Did ya all eat too much for turkey day and are still in an L-tryptophan coma?

(yes, yes, I know... new studies show that turkey does not contain enough of the amino acid to affect a human being... not only is this site fun, it's smart!)

And by the way, band boys... is the bowling alley whole band or acoustic? Just want to plan ahead as to which dancing shoes I might wear...

Love ya all, including Jay who clearly checks the site often (like many of us) and is need of entertainment (as are all of us)!!! Let's help him out...
didn't I hear rumors of "The Banger Sisters" out there?

In thinking about what I'm thankful for today, I would be remiss to not thank you guys for adding so much enjoyment to my year. I sincerely appreciate the fun and laughs, but most of the all the music and entertainment. Have a great turkey (or tofurkey depending on your thoughts) day. HAPPY THANKSGIVING!

what is it about this singer that generates this feedback?
the voice? (totally incredible)
the non attitude?(when there sure could be)
the look? (hot sexy)
the personality? (hot sexy)
the charisma? (hot sexy)

guess i just answered my own question

by the way he is not the only hot one in the band but damn he is fun to look at listen to grab etc

November 20, 2007

Sorry. One more thing that was so cool was how you interacted with the crowd between the shows. I've never had ther singer of a band stop to shake my hand, introduce himself to my boyfriend and I and ask how our night was going. Very personal touch. Very unique and very "real". Wanted to say how awesome we thought that was.

OK. Now I'm done.

It's now midnight and I'm reliving Friday night in my head. The music was great the show was greater and the singer was perfect. Price of admission wasn't bad either! I have seen quite a few local bands over the years and enjoyed many of them. You guys, however, although not perfect musically, were amazingly perfect. The energy, the sound, the look, the song selection (great by the way job with Live Like You Were Dying and The Chili Peppers), the voice that stopped me in my tracks, and did I mention the energy?

Really excited that I ran into you guys, but sad that a move to Sioux Falls in a few weeks may prevent me from seeing you again until your world tour!

Had a great time. Thanks so much for making my weekend.

I hate these guys. Not only do they pull tons of women into their wild and crazy guestbook, but the women were putty in their hands on Friday night. Having been in several bands a number of years ago, I could only have hoped to have gotten the response that they did. Pure envy and obviously kidding about hating you.

Even being a straight male, Van does totally rock. Great appearance, energy, and knock you down good vocal performance. I'm sure he would agree though that his bandmates are as much of the draw as he is. A phenominal singer (which he is) in a mediocre band is only mediocre. This band is far from that. They were tight and rocked the house, partcularly for the first time out as I understood it. Don't ever overlook a great rhythm section. The drums and bass carried the show and allowed Van the others to do what they needed to in order to keep everyone on the dance floor.

Marcie aka Van Fan

November 19, 2007

Just what did I miss on Friday night? And how dare anyone say "enough" when referring to Van? This band is what it is because of Van and for anyone to suggest that there's ever "enough" comments about that energy, voice, sexiness, charm, etc stay off the guestpage so that the rest of us at least me can continue to log on 3-4 times a day to read the latest and greatest Van comments as well as those for the rest of his great band.

I don't mean to be rude, but you could never have "enough" comments about Van. I love reading that everyone else out there loves him and his band as much as I do.

I say keep the comments coming!

A very devoted "Van Fan" (and the rest of this awesome band)

Lets face it, this entire band rocks. Enough about the singer and young lad. I don't know the last time I have seen a guitar player perform that well
---- the acoustic guitar as well as the electric guitar. Also VERY easy on the eyes. The drummer----was incrediable, best drummer I have ever seen in a "club" setting. The bass player was a blast to watch. He was awsome and looked like he was having so much fun doing his thing. The energy that they have together is incrediable, especially the singer and lead guitar player.
The bottom line.
73Paces = most talented rock group around.
If anybody doubts it---check them out---you won't be sorry.

HOT! You guys completely rock! A drink with a friend turned into one of the best nights of the year. Great great time. All the comments about your singer are so true. Being a singer myself I really appreciate the beauty of that voice. The band as a whole is terrific. We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves, and I'm glad to see that your music is on itunes. Thanks for a great night.

I was blown away on Friday! I was at the first part of your show and was going to leave before the full band started. Boy am I glad I didn't! How amazing was that? You sounded nothing like Stevie Wonder when you opened with Superstition, but I hate Stevie Wonder. Your version was fantastic! Then I think you played Disease by Rob Thomas and I knew I was staying all night! Fantastic, hot night, and I'll be back to see you again.

Great band and your singer kicks serious ass.

Gosh, I wish I could remember the evening so that I could post a comment... somehow, though, my memory has been wiped away and replaced only by this sound... this pumping, driving sound that keeps racing through my head... screamimg guitars, liquid bass, wicked quick drums and that voice, that core-driven, devil of a voice... all combined I was helpless against the wills that pulled my body to the dance floor and wouldn't let me leave...

Totally paid for it the next day!!!

It was worth the wait boys!! If booty fun can be measured by body pain, then you scored off the charts according to my level of discomfort (and chiropractic appointments) and you truly may want to have AED at future shows! You rocked my ass right out of my boots!!

Congrats!! You were un-f-ing-believable!!! Now there's nothing to do but wait for the adreneline crash... dammit... I hate that part...

Let's do it again and SOON!!!

November 17, 2007

Loved your concert last night. I hoped you were playing again tonight, but it does not look like it. I am so very impressed with your vocalist although the mix made it difficult to hear him at times. Great energy and nice song selection. You have many fans, and when you sing the way you do, it's easy to see why. Beautiful voice. Not hard on the eyes either.

WOW! First time seeing the full band last night, and it was incredible. I loved the show that Van and Kevin did beforehand, and what a way to cap my night!

To weigh in on the "sexy" comments: This is just a sexy band each guy in their own way. If you want sexy Van is my choice. Hot as hell, amazing voice and yet he doesn't act like he knows how hot he is. Makes him all the hotter.

To all the boys though: You rocked the joint last night. Looked and sounded amazing. Keep it coming 73 paces!

Carrie

November 17, 2007

Now how fun was that? I'm so glad that I got to see the very first show of the full band! Great songs and awesome show. Vocal seduction is right. Could listen to that voice all night long. Loved the two man show first and the full band totally rocked. Very hot. Best

Jennifer

November 17, 2007

It's all sexy! Landon IS sexy and Van is drop dead gorgeous. If there is such thing as vocal seduction I experienced it last night. My god I'd go home with either of them.

Bea think -just "boots". Yum :)

beatrice

November 11, 2007

And since you all are now mentioning "country", I have to chime (I have an opinion... go figure). There are plenty of incredible local bands that do all the Garth Brooks, Brooks & Dunn and Rascal Flatts you would ever want to hear (plus some amazing originals) so PLEASE let's leave the country where the country belongs... I mean really, can you picture any of these guys in cowboy boots?!?!

Keep rockin' hard, boys!!! And for the chicas that really need to hear some country, come find me in a quiet corner of a 73 Paces show and I'll guide you to some of best bands around... you just can't go see them on a night when 73 Paces plays!! Although something tells me that 73 Paces would win that battle anyway:-)

Love ya boys!! Can't wait til Friday!!

Stacey

November 11, 2007

Hello Cheech! Love you girl! Just read your entry! How about any of these guys less shirt! How about any of them less wife/girlfriend! How about any of them singing or playing directly to me! Best yet, how about ALL of them playing and singing directly to me less shirt and wife/girlfriend!!! Silly I know. Just having some fun.

Stacey

November 11, 2007

Since someone brought up Garth Brooks, I've got to chime in on it. ANY Garth Brooks song would be awesome for Van to sing. But in particular, I would love to hear "To make you feel my love". I guarantee every woman in the place melts on that one. PLEASE DO IT!!!

mel

November 10, 2007

Van I know you don't do country- but I can soooo hear you singing Garth Brooks new one "More Than A Memory"- just think about it you would be awesome.

Cheech

November 9, 2007

Are you talking heart stopping amazing? I'll bring my AED. My interest is seriuosly piqued! What could be amazing? Van's voice healed and back to its full depth of tone and richness? Kevin's lightening fast fingers playing two guitars at once? Landon minus shirt? ....guess I'll have to be there.

beatrice

November 9, 2007

Since Van has apparently put a buzz-kill on the guestbook action, let's see if we can pick it up where we left off (although thanks for the heads up on the date mix-up, many a folk would have been very disappointed)...

The last time you guys played in Chaska, you not only rocked the house, but the crowd was amazing!! The anticipation of this "big surprise" has been building for god knows how many months, so I expect the place will be packed and a'rockin!! Note to self (and everyone else)... get there early if you want a seat...

Really won't bother me as I expect my booty will be on the dance floor most of the night!!

And didn't I say that the shows at the Lodge are always a little somthin' special? You guys were awesome!!!!

Love ya!!

November 8, 2007

There has been some confusion around the date we play at River City Center in Chaska. The newspapers said we play tomorrow night, but we actually play on Friday, November 16. You should consider being at this one. Guaranteed to be a night to remember.

November 7, 2007

What the hell did I miss on Saturday! Sounds like a rockin good time. Always is a good time at your shows in Watertown. The photos look like it was enjoyed by all!

I have a request. Assuming I can get my boyfriend to join me at your show in Chaska, can you please sing "wherever you will go" for he and I (his name is Brian). We both love the song and would love to dance together to you singing it. You sing it as well as the original band.

Thanks!

Carrie

November 7, 2007

I wish I had been able to be at the show on Saturday. Sounds like I missed a hell of a party and a hell of a I think almost fight. I don't know who the moron was who considered getting into a fight with Van, but grow up. "The life you save may just be your own."

Anyway back to the music. Does it get any better than the 73 Paces you saw on Saturday? Yes it does! I saw the full band a year or so ago in Shakopee and they kicked ass. You want energy, wait until you see Van backed up by a complete band!

My birthday is November 12. My birthday "wish" is that the "surprise" will be a full band show at River City Center. What else could it be?

Hoping I'm right and looking forward to it. Maybe I'll get the shirt this time!

Impressive show at the lodge! I was having so much fun listening to the music and dancing with the beautiful ladies that I hardly knew the night was over until it was over. I will definitely spread the word the next time you are in town.

Of course, that is only if I can wait that long. It is tempting to make a field trip to Chaska to see the "Big surprise." I was tipped off to the surprise by a reliable source, but I am not telling anyone!

On a separate note, I told my sister all about you guys and described the fun she could have if she visited. After 11 years of excuses, she is buying a plane ticket. It helped that I had her read your guestbook. A couple of the more explicit entries may have inspired her ;)

November 6, 2007

Now that I've consumed the last couple hours of my life reading the history of 73 Paces on this site, I feel like I've been a fan for a couplef of years rather than just the few days since I first saw you in Watertown.

All I can say is WOW! I had no idea that such talent was right here in our little town. I came in during a guitar piece, really just a solo I think, and loved the sound. Then I heard one of the most amazing voices I've ever experienced and then I fell in love with this band. Had I not been really focused on watching the singer sing, I'd of sworn that he was lip syncing. Unbelieveable.

To see so many people having such fun in our town was great, and then to see the huge man (who I think used to play football) shaking his booty along with the rest of us, I know how great this was.

Sorry my message is so long. Thank you so much for such a wonderful show. Thank your for playing your fingers to the bone. Thank you for singing your ass of even though I heard you were fighting a cold (I never would have known it and can only imagine how you must sound when healthy)! And thank you for promising (please, please, please) to come back to Luce Line Lodge regularly.

The best night in my recent memory.

I have not ever posted on a fan book, but my girlfriend and I really enjoyed oursleves on Saturday. You guys rock both during and after the show. What is rock and roll without a little violence anyway?

Luckily they pulled the smashed guy out of there before he really got smashed!

Note to drunk dude - Learn to walk away man. You almost got into a battle that you could not possibly finish.

I had a blast, but my girlfriend enjoyed it more. Both the music and the "fight".

Whoa! 2

November 5, 2007

Rowdy, I'd say! Van went from hot sexy singer to hot sexy ass kicker. Little drunk boy is lucky he had a few friends there to save his life.

Hot backup singer????? There were like 4 of them. Which one? Nice to finally see a GUY do some backup vocals. One suggestion though would be to have less volume on the backup singers. Don't lose anything on Van's voice.

Kevin and London - Nice guitar work as always. Love your Hawaii 5-0. Great energy.

Looking forward to the next show boys.

Whoa!

November 5, 2007

It felt like it was a true rock star show rowdiness included. Who was the hot blond that was singing back-up? She was the treat of the night!

I can't put my name, but I am terribly sorry for how I behaved last night. I got way to carried away with your singer only partly due to alcohol consumption, and said and did things that I should not have. My friend told me I was obnoxious and would not take no for an answer. I'm sorry.

These are truly nice guys and I'm sorry to have tried to cross a line that I should not have. Next time (if you have me back) I will keep my hands and comments to myself.

November 1, 2007

people really do read this! impressive. i think my comments werent received like i would have hoped. i really did enjoy myself and just wanted to give some honest feedback. since ive already stirred the crap at least i see that stocky likes women! how about the other two? the youngster talked mostly to guys that i saw and the singer was approached no less than by 6 women that i saw but showed little interest. makes a girl wonder.

ok let me have it. this is fun.

A little honesty

November 1, 2007

Since we're all spewing our honest thoughts, I'm going to do the same. I'll probably get cut from the guest book and maybe even banished from future 73 paces shows. Wait, you don't know who I am thanks to a fake e-mail address! Why do you require this anyway? My friend Heather saw you guys some time ago and described it to me by saying that the singers voice made her (let's say)"little kitty" moist. This of course peaked my curiosity, so I had to go with her on Saturday night to Wytts End. I concur. There were two "little kitties" that were moist that night. By the way, I'm not referring to the two cute blondes who were dressed up as kittens for part of the night.

My husband thanks you profusely even though he does not know why he got what he got when I got home!

Trying to get to the Luce Lodge on Saturday, so hold a seat (covered in a towel obviously) for us!

Way to break it down Stephanie!!

And Sara, poor, poor misguided Sara... if you don't like what you see I suggest the next time you come to a 73 Paces show, you close your eyes and FEEL what the rest us SEE... 4 hours of musical bliss coming from both these amazing guys and the audience.

If that doesn't work, I think you should hook up with Trudie from CJ's(see her 2nd. guestbook posting from March 12, 2007). I bet the two of you could become good friends...

Pre-apologies to everyone. I just couldn't resist!!!

November 1, 2007

Wow! Now that's drama! All I know is that these guys are dripping with hotness but all in their own way. Landen is a damn cute young guy (can he even legally play in a bar?), Kevin is a bit older but has aged sooooo well (very cute eyes), and Van can just flat out seduce you with his voice or his look (lethal combination). My favorite local band hands down (looks, sound, personality, whatever). Keep it up boys.

Hey there,
Sara I appreciate the fashion comments. Constuctive criticism is always cool. For the record , 90% of the "ass - munching" was with people that I knew, the other 10% were with "drunk", annoying people. Sorry I grossed you out like the big fat ass man trying to fit in bike shorts! However, at least you liked the music and that's all that matters. Sorry, can't please everybody.
Come see us again and "dance or butt-scoot" with us.

Sara,

I was there on Sat. night and I have to say that I didn't see the Guitar player rubbing his Ass on other people all night, I personally think they did a WONDERFUL job and look forward to seeing them over and over again, but hope not to see you there if you where so unhappy with everything.

sara (at least on your guestbook)

October 31, 2007

you guys sounded awesome on sat. being the critic that i am though i have a few friendly comments. the stocky guitar player should spend less time rubbing his ass on women. it's just not sexy. and i'd also go for more of the rock and roll look with looser clothes. very unflattering look with super tight clothes. sorry for my honesty. great music. we'll be back to here you again.

I've just been able to log into your site after a truly great time at the Sharp Project. You guys were so much fun and sounded truly remarkable. My daughter (16 years old) informed me that seeing you was like seeing Matchbox 20, Maroon Five, Chris Daughtry and The Fray all in one night. I enjoyed it but she and her friends truly loved it. They were a little shy to come close for fear that they would be recruited to sing! Very fun. Thanks for sharing your talent for such a wonderful cause.

Couldn't agree more with Lynn. You guys were awesome and I'd play with your band anytime anywhere. I melted with Moondance and then melted again and again. Beautiful amazing voice and great personalities to go along.

I enjoyed talking to you both and a couple of your I believe regular fans.

My wife and I intended to have dinner and a drink or two on Friday night, but you guys kept us there for hours. Very nice show. Loved the song selection and am amazed at how well you were able to do them all. Thanks for a great night.
